The body sweats for three reasons; to get rid of waste from the body, to regulate the body’s temperature and to keep the skin clean. All of these are very important to the health of our body.
The body has approximately 2-4 million sweat glands and these glands are capable of producing 12 litres of sweat per day. Sweating may affect the whole body, however commonly affected areas including the armpits, palms of your hands, soles of your feet, face, chest and groin.
Sweating does not pose any serious threat to your health, but it can become a distressing problem for some.

Excess Sweating Injections
Excess sweating can be treated at ProSkin Clinics with an injection of Botulinum toxin type A . The treatment is injected into the skin which can stop sweating for 5-8 months and the treatment can then be repeated.
The treatment is injected and the toxin blocks the chemical messenger sent to your sympathetic nerves and so it does not reach the sweat glands. Without the chemical message, the glands cannot turn on the sweating. The effect of the injection is that it permanently blocks the nerve endings, so sweat cannot be produced.
At ProSkin Clinics all injectable treatments are carried out by a fully registered doctor.
