Dead and damaged cells on the surface of the skin build up over time, this can cause the skin to look dull and tired. Having too much contact with the sun and ageing can also leave the skin with imperfections.
Microdermabrasion is a treatment ProSkin offer to help reduce and in some cases solve these problems, resulting in your skin looking radiant after one session.
What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a popular and safe treatment which works for a wide variety of skin conditions. The treatment gently exfoliates the skin; this can improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles, promote the growth of new skin cells, reduce acne scaring and sun damage. This treatment improves the look, feel and condition of your skin.
How does Microdermabrasion work?
Microdermabrasion is the application of tiny rough grains, which are used to buff away the surface layer of skin (the stratum corneum). The top layer of skin is a set of dead skin cells which are on top of another layer of cells which are maturing.
The stratum corneum is the layer of skin which has minor skin imperfections such as fine lines, wrinkles and blemishes. A jet of micro crystals is vacuumed across the top layer of skin with a hand piece, removing the dead skin cells resulting in skin looking more radiant. Multiple treatments can improve minor scars, wrinkles and lines which are on the top layer of the skin.
The treatment does not attempt to go any further than the stratum corneum as affecting the deeper layers of skin could be both painful and harmful.
Who is suitable for Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a suitable skin treatment for many different people, the treatment can be offered to those who simply want to refresh the skin in order to gain radiance, or a course of the treatment can be offered to those who want to reduce problems such as minor scaring. The treatment can be effective on the face, hands and body.

How long does Microdermabrasion take to work?
Our Microdermabrasion treatment can make a difference after just one treatment, however this does vary on what the individual wants to achieve. To give skin a natural glow and restore radiance one single treatment can attain this.
For optimal results to help with conditions such as acne scaring and sun damage a course of treatment is recommended with a session every 7 to 10 days.
