We have all tried and tested many different DIY hair removal solutions over the years; some worked, some didn’t. So we’re going to put it to the test. Is DIY hair removal the way forward or should we stick with a professional at ProSkin?
Types of DIY hair removal
There are many different methods of DIY hair removal. The first and most popular option is shaving – nice and easy (although you do always hold this risk of cutting yourself, and we all know how much that hurts – ouch!)
We also have waxing, epilating, tweezing and hair removal creams. All of these can be done easily enough in the comfort of your own home – but are they worth it?
Although shaving may seem like the most cost effective solution, in the long run this is not the case. Shaving is extremely repetitive and will need to be done at least once a week for the rest of your life. Not only is this time consuming, but the cost of razors will add up.
Epilating is the cheapest at home hair removal solution. With a one off cost you can remove hair until your heart’s content – but with a high pain factor. Although epilating is one of the cheaper options you do run the risk of getting ingrown hairs – so our experts at ProSkin do not recommend this method. Plus, have you tried it? Ouch!
If you are on a budget, at home hair removal may seem like the best option however when you consider the cost over your life time, all of those razors and hair removal creams will add up.
Professional hair removal
When it comes to professional hair removal you can either go to a salon to get waxed or you can opt for a long-term solution such as laser hair removal. So what is best, at home hair removal or professional hair removal?
- Salon Waxing
Professional hair removal such as waxing is a good solution; the job gets done properly and professionally. However waxing is not a permanent solution, and will result in a waxing trip each month. This cost will add up quickly.
- Laser Hair Removal
The last hair removal option is laser hair removal; although this can seem expensive, it’s the most permanent of hair removal solutions. When you work out the cost of constantly buying razors or getting waxed you will end up saving money and time in the long run.
DIY Vs. Professional
Both DIY hair removal and professional hair removal have pros and cons, so let’s start with at home hair removal. You might think that at home hair removal is the cheapest option, and it may well be to start off with but in the long run it can become a quite costly experience.
When it comes to professional hair removal, laser hair removal seems to be the best option when you take the long term cost into consideration.
At ProSkin we offer a great deal of offers on our Laser Hair Removal treatment every month.
